So,I'm saying hey after a period of long mental rush and extreme psychological exercise...I've been sitting exams for almost two months now and I'm on the verge of becoming a living zombie.I have lost a bit of myself in this torturing adventure but I always find ways to cope with the visicitudes I "accidentally" run on... It's been a difficult period, that, for not only me but for all my close colleagues.Nevertheless,I always grabbed the chance when I had time (in the rarest of moments) to get involved in my beloved past time (and not only) exercise...MUSIC!!!!During this period of utter chaos I managed to find time to listen, learn and write a lot of music. Before I continue I should highlight for one more time the immense importance of creativity of any kind in a man's life and how fulfilling this "tripping" experience can be.So, to reconnect to our earth satellite, I am writing this article to share with the long-missed public my musical experiences during this time of disturbingly empty social life...
As I said I've listened to a lot of music lately and for my mood I concentrated mostly on slowcore and other branches that generated from that genre.I bought the brand new cd of Keren Ann which is named after her and has two chaotically beautiful songs:"Freedom" which i a very luminous and emotional ballad and "Between the Flatland and the Caspian Sea".I've also bought Feist's new album "The Reminder" but I didn't have the time to obtain a full image of the girl's musical talent cause time was running short...although I can say that "1234" is one of the sweetest little songs I've ever set my ears out to listen.I've also listened to Robert Plant's & Alison Krauss' new collaboration which I think the legendary frontman has blessed with his magic....songs like "Gone gone gone(Done moved on)" are not every chores!Ooooohhh, you should defenately hear the "Grindhouse:Death Proof" soundtrack cause it includes all kinds of classics from the '80s era of super-boogie,super-dance,super-rythmic rock. Some of those little diamonds are:Jeepster by T-Rex,Down In Mexico by The Coasters and Chick Habit by April March there is also another one that apparently is not included in the audio teaser...it is by a
band called mike, doo, dozzy and tee or something like that but it is a downstroker's masterpiece. Furthermore,I've taken a little bite from Kate Nash's debut album "Made Of Bricks" and I should confess that "Foundations" is a very promising girly kinda song.I would like to take a moment and praise Kate's effort...she is my age and her true love for music has given her the stimulus to reach the heights of attention (at least in UK). Moreover,I've listened to some jazz...but to be more precise I've listened to THE JAZZ ALBUM which is Ornette Coleman's "The shape of jazz to come" a stunning fusion and melody-improvising masterpiece.Because of listening to Coleman I had to listen to Eric Dolphy, let alone Ted Curson and his one-of-a-kind 8-minute elegy "Tears for Dolphy"....Changing a bit my music category I am going to speak about indie rock and its revolution in the close borders of my small country.Initially I would like to say that I'm not going to spent even a drop of my saliva to refer to those irretatingly untalented and unaware of their total zeroness as musical entities groups that gather under the label "alternative" and the only thing they are taught to do is memorize a bunch of chords in the electric guitar and recycle them over and over and over again...like that cock-sucker drug-addict frontman of Libertines and Babysamples Pete fuckin'Doherty and those Razor fuckin' Light and those puke provoking Chemical Romance and Fallout GIRLZZZZZ!Who do you all think you are you stupid fagots????? You dumbass kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So,to relax a little bit I'd like to say that efforts such as "Indie Free Festival" should be massively supported IF and only IF the lineup is worth of an applause.Groups like the Planet of Zeus or Misuse are setting a strong musical base for future greek music production...
Sorry but I'm tired of writing.Unfortunately these words are not even the half of what I had in mind.I promise to come back on more about the albums I heard, the artists I discovered, rare facts and finally...information about my musical production.
Thank you all for reading these words zero fans of the site!!!CYA!!!
PS:Didn't mention the peppers as I had planned for time is not a friend of mine
